I'm afraid of change
We organize our lives around our kids, our jobs, our marriage. But when those things change, it can be scary. Changes can seem like giant mountains to us in times like these. Nothing feels safe.
I feel discouraged
Discouragement is tough. We might even say that any true follower of Christ must eventually face AND overcome discouragement. There are times when it feels like Jesus is nowhere to be found. We need to see that we are not alone. Discouragement means we have lost our courage.
I feel lonely
God is in our lonely places. Remember Jacob? “God you were in this place, but I never knew.”
If you and I care enough to help and heal our neighbors, we will see our own help and healing, too.
Unharbored
Who can rescue you from life's storms? Who is powerful enough to calm the chaos when there is no safe harbor?
Don't Stop Believin'
Faith requires courage. The courage to follow Christ. The courage to look at what Christ stands for. Faith requires the courage to tell someone that God doesn’t need their help to rewrite a new story for them. The courage to believe that no matter what my situation is, God is not bound by those parameters. Faith is standing firm upon the idea that God is the only one who can make a way where there is no way.
pray. trust. wait.
Pray. Trust. Wait. Sounds so simple, but it's hard to do. Take a moment to think about good things that are true.
