3D Printed Masks for COVID-19

Charlie Guest and his wife, Jeani, teamed up with local pastor Matt Davis to create face masks using a 3D printer. The printing process is explained in this short video. Davis explains his search for a way to help first responders and his congregation: https://www.txcumc.org/newsdetail/rural-pastor-creating-3d-masks-for-essential-workers-with-the-help-of-pef-fund-13995502

A Prayer for the World

https://youtu.be/oQ1rmsyzFDo

Dear God,

It seems like lots of uncertainty around us. So many people who need prayers.

Today, I pray…

For those whose health is compromised by the coronavirus or other health issues.

For those who suffer from the economic impact of the virus, in travel, manufacturing, hospitality, energy or so many other industries.

For healthcare workers and first responders, and other public servants who put themselves in harm’s way for us.

For our leaders of the world, our countries, states, and cities, as they seek to help manage this challenge

God, it can be overwhelming. But you tell us over and over again not to be afraid.

Show me how to trust in you.

As I examine my heart this Lenten season, help me to turn away from my concern with self,

and turn my heart, hands, and prayers toward the concerns of others.

In the name of Jesus Christ, I pray. Amen.

A Prayer for a World Facing the Coronavirus was adapted from a prayer posted by St. Luke’s United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. 713-622-5710, 3471 Westheimer Road, Houston, TX 77027.

Stop Covid-19

Dear Tennison:

Please read and share this information about how to respond and react to the COVID-19 virus.

1) The best thing we can do, according to multiple healthcare professionals, is practice good hygiene. Wash your hands with soap and water. Wash your hands as long as it takes you to sing "Happy Birthday". Hand sanitizer is also good to use. WASH YOUR HANDS OFTEN.

2) If you have fever, cough, or shortness of breath, stay home until you are better. Avoiding person-to-person contact is also smart. People can have this virus without symptoms for up to 48 hours.

3) Avoid touching your eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands. Cough or sneeze into your sleeve and not your hands.

4) According to Dr. Michael Phillips at NYU Langone Medical Center, most people have mild symptoms (up to 80%), BUT if your symptoms become progressively worse or if you are already weakened by other conditions, you need to contact your doctor. IF your symptoms progress to include shortness of breath, or difficulty catching your breath, you should contact your doctor right away.

5) If you want to know more, or get updated information, please go to the CDC website for your information. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/index.html

6) Panic breeds PANIC! Can anyone tell me why we are out of toilet paper? Be a calm presence. There is already enough panic and overreaction present for all of us.

7) Please remember that God is over this world. Pray, be smart, don't panic, and practice good hygiene.

Peace,

Pastor Mike
